Cortec also offers protection for sensitive electronics in the form of VpCI-125 static dissipative films and bags.
Cortec’s VpCI-125 makes electronics packaging effortless by combining Cortec’s high-quality contact and vapor-phase corrosion protection with ESD protection. All that is needed to keep the electronic in “as new” condition is to place it inside the bag and close it. This replaces complicated methods of the past for applying desiccants and vacuum packaging and is an excellent way to protect the following items:
- Integrated circuits
- PCB components
- Telecommunications equipment
- Electronic and electrical panels
- Electronic enclosures
- Electric car components
VpCI-125 releases Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitors that form a monomolecular protective layer on metal substrates within the package and do not interfere with the physical or chemical properties of electronic components. VpCI-125 also does not affect optical properties or plastics used in the electronics industry. VpCI-125 protects multi-metals including steel, copper (and alloys), aluminum (and alloys), brass, solder, and nickel.
VpCI-125 is the commercial equivalent of MIL-PRF-81705 D, displaying a surface resistivity between 105 and 1011 Ω and a static decay rate of <2 seconds. The surface resistivity also conforms to the requirements of IEC-61340-5-1 for anti-stat film properties.
